Update: Earlier today Microsoft announced that a Titanfall Xbox One bundle will be released on March Eleventh. This bundle will include a normal Xbox One console, Titanfall, a normal Xbox One controller, a Kinect, and some Xbox Gold time. The bundle will retail at $499.99.
Alongside the announcement of the bundle Microsoft has announced a price drop for the console in the UK. Originally retailing for close to £450, the console will now be £399.99. While Microsoft says this price drop has nothing to do with the fact the PS4 is outselling the X1 week after week 3:1, it’s hard to imagine another reason for the price drop.
Will the bundle cause you to buy an Xbox One, if you haven’t already? Let us know in the comments below.
Earlier today I uncovered some evidence which would suggest that the rumored Titanfall Xbox One is not only real, but will be released alongside Titanfall on March 11th. While it has been speculated heavily these past weeks, Microsoft has yet to announce the console or even hint that the console does exist.
During a trip to Gamestop earlier today to pre-order my copy of Titanfall, I came across a SKU in Gamestop’s system which lines up with, and matches, what would most likely be a Titanfall Xbox One bundle. After completing my transaction, I asked the guy behind the counter if they had gotten a SKU on an Infamous: Second Son console. His response surprised me. They didn’t have a SKU for the PS4 bundle, but they did have one priced at $499.99 and releasing on March 11th.
That’s right: Gamestop currently has in their system a SKU only titled as “Available SKU,” priced at the Xbox One’s price point, with a release date that just happens to coincide with Titanfall.
As I tried to enquire what the SKU was the clerk would only tell me that the SKU was entered into their system earlier this week. He also said that he believed he had received an e-mail earlier in the day about the SKU. The e-mail supposedly had said that the they were not to take pre-orders for the SKU until later in the week.
In my mind, this SKU can’t be anything other than a Titanfall Xbox One. While I’ve tried to reach out to both Microsoft and Gamestop to receive further word on this, I’ve yet to receive anything back from either as of the time of this writing.
